How do I get a Wireless Network?
Deploying a wireless network solution starts with a wireless site survey. A proper site survey provides detailed information that addresses coverage, interference sources, equipment placement, power considerations and wiring requirements.

Components of a wireless LAN solution can include some or all of the following devices:
- Wireless access points – access points (APs) establish the connectivity between the wireless client and the wired network. Wireless APs are available in lightweight and autonomous varieties. Lightweight APs require a Wireless LAN Controller to function.
- Wireless LAN Controllers – Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) provide the intelligence for lightweight access points and simplify the deployment and administration of a wireless network solution. WLCs allow administrators to securely manage WLANs and mobility services including security, guest access, and location services.
- Wireless Routers – For small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) and branch offices, wireless routers can provide a complete, secure wireless infrastructure solution.
- Outdoor Access Points and Bridges – Outdoor APs extend the reach of the network beyond the physical boundaries of a building. Bridges can be used to rapidly and cost-effectively connect multiple buildings within a campus environment.
