Building Trusted Relationships at Hardware.com
This is a story of how Hardware.com became a trusted supplier of network equipment to a City bank.

Charlie Bellord is our Sales Director, and his background is the banking sector.

Therefore he called some of his contacts and this particular bank wanted emergency SFPs, clarifying that they wanted Cisco.

Charlie supplied Cisco and some free ProLabs kit (for testing), having indicated a saving of about 70%. “Never in a million years will we have anything but Cisco” said his customer.

Having tested the kit, it worked fine; the customer started placing orders for emergency 4-hour deliveries and non-core kit.

The opportunity came up to quote for a large IT hardware solution; Charlie was able to quote 30% less than any other supplier due to non-Cisco equipment.
It had become very much a commercial decision for the bank, the Financial and Managing Directors became involved in the decision-making process. No one else could match the price.

Since that point when Hardware.com won the tender we have supplied all their hardware requirements and support packages for all their UK operations.

They now have a £100k credit limit.
